Luther High to begin $7.5 million in upgrades

Groundbreaking at 3:30 p.m. Sunday

Onalaska Luther High School is getting a facelift.

One that’s estimated to cost $7.5 million.

The school will have a groundbreaking ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Plans include a new auditorium and chapel, two floors of classroom space, parking lot and sports field reconstruction and renovations to the current infrastructure.

The auditorium will have a capacity of 630.

“Adding on Six classrooms that will help us meet the needs of our art program, as well as science programs,” Luther principal Paul Wichman said.

Thanks to the 29 parishes associated with the school, it’s already received more than $4 million in donations.
