Group introducing measure to have Republican Party stop wasting money on Trump campaign
Steele County Rep. co-chair resigned
his position over Trump fiasco
Like a lot of American, the world, in fact, some people cannot believe Donald Trump is the potential Republican nominee for president – Republicans included.
Some of those Republicans are so disgusted with the situation, they’re set to introduce a measure to have the party stop spending – they would say ‘wasting’ – money on Trump’s campaign.
Steele County’s Republican Party co-chairman is resigning his position because of Trump.
Dave Thul initially thought the Trump campaign was a joke, and now, we’re here, so he’s part of the group Conservatives for Candidates of Character, introducing the measure to stop spending on Trump at the state convention in Duluth, Minn., on Friday.
“I expect it to get voted down, pretty summarily,” Houston County Republican Party co-chair Patrick Boone said.
Boone doesn’t expect that measure or any other to create a divisive environment in his party’s state convention.
