Logan students build tiny house on wheels
Home sold to Minnesota man, who plans
use it in both Minneapolis and Duluth
It took the entire year, but the hard work by Logan High School students paid off. Literally.
Upperclassmen at Logan took part in a Tiny House on Wheels (THOW) project in building construction class, and unveiled the home last week.
The project, led by teacher Jacob Schumacher, was built on a 32-foot trailer. It’s completely livable – siding, steel roof, plumbing and a loft area big enough for a king-size bed.
The tiny house has been sold to a man who lives in Minneapolis, but it may not rest there or in any one place, for that matter.
“It’s not going to be sitting in one spot,” Schumacher said. “It’s definitely going to be traveling around a little bit.”
The owner plans to make it his home in Minneapolis in the winter and Duluth, Minn., in the summer.
Schumacher called the project valuable and would like to do the it again. He says the project was valuable for his students, learning more than they would just doing mock projects.
