It’s hard to say if Elizabeth Dauffenbach will remember her OWI, hit-and-run when she’s in La Crosse court.

She didn’t remember it when it happened.

Police were on another call when they heard what sounded like a car accident on Green Bay Street around 2 a.m. Friday.

As an officer approached in his squad car, he watched the La Crosse woman drive off the curb and away from the scene. She passed his squad and kept on driving down Green Bay St., as if the officer’s car wasn’t lit up with emergency lights.

When the 37-year-old did pull over, she didn’t remember hitting the vehicle, and only said she had accidentally ran up on the curb.

Police noticed her slurred and slow speech. They also noticed a 375 ml bottle Fleischmann’s vodka in her car and, eventually, THC and drug paraphernalia.

Dauffenbach was arrested for hit-and-run, OWI – she blew a .207.
