Adults will not need fishing license

The fifth-annual Take Kids Fishing event takes place from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Pettibone Lagoon.

It’s a free event. Fishing poles, bait, lunch and free door prizes will be provided, but limited to the first 150 kids. To preregister, email: [email protected]

Adults will not a fishing license because it coincides with Wisconsin’s “Free Fishing Weekend. Children must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.

The purpose of the event is to get kids more involved in fishing, says Bill Brockmiller with the Western Wisconsin AFL-CIO, which is partnering with the Union Sportsman’s Alliance to put on the event.
