Old Country Buffet today is all-you-won’t eat
Texas-based company typically closes stores abruptly
ONALASKA, Wis. — Tuesday at the Old Country Buffet in Onalaska was supposed to be Backyard BBQ day.
With endless pork riblets, smoked sausage and carved brisket. Instead, it’s the day the all-you-can-eat restaurant closed down for good, apparently.
The popular spot for big eaters closed suddenly today with only a sign on the window of the restaurant.
Nobody could be reach at the store for comment.
This, however, follows a string of closings of the chain, and others under the umbrella of the Texas-based Ovation Brands company, which has been in and out of bankruptcy a couple times since 2008.
Those closings typically follow the pattern of an abrupt shut down with little or no notice.
The company has been sued for the practice in the past.
