Students call it the Logan Ranger Autonomous Vehicle

A class at Logan High School has made a driverless car.

At 1:30 p.m. today outside the school, students in the Project Lead the Way digital electronics class will conduct a test drive of what’s being called the Logan Ranger Autonomous Vehicle.

The vehicle can be controlled by remote transmitter and navigated using a live-view system with a wireless link to a mounted GoPro

The vehicle was designed and fabricated in the school’s Technology and Engineering Dept.

Financial support was given through a $1,700 grant from the La Crosse Public Education Foundation.

Trane was also involved in the project. It organized a tour of the plant to educate students about manufacturing and how a driverless vehicle could be utilized in industry.
