Chicken truck tips over, workers round them up

It took Rocky a long time to catch one chicken in Rocky II

GLENCOE, Wis. — Workers from the GNP Company joined a roundup after a poultry truck crashed in western Wisconsin, spilling live chickens onto the road.

There’s a “How’d the chicken cross the road” joke in here. GNP produces Gold’n Plump brand chicken.

The report said the chickens were loaded onto another truck, but that’s hard to believe if you’ve seen Rocky II.

Then again, the condition of the chickens, and how many were loose, was not reported.

The crash happened around 9 p.m. Monday night when the driver went around a corner on River Road and tipped the truck.

The driver, a 41-year-old Mondovi, Wis., man, was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The sheriff’s office says speed appeared to be a factor, and the driver was cited.
