Convictions have occurred in multiple couties

When La Crosse police said they were familiar with Albert Williams III, they were primarily referring to a drug bust that occurred in the city earlier this year.

Williams was on probation for that when they arrested him this week after watching Facebook videos of him with guns, drugs and money.

Williams was busted with four others downtown in February, after an informant gave police info about his drug dealing.

The police emergency response team hit the downtown apartment and found a heroin dealing operation with guns, drugs and thousands in cash.

At that time, Williams’ rap sheet was extensive: nearly 20 convictions going back to 2000, ranging from disorderly conduct to sexual assault. It also includes several counts for drug dealing, occurring in La Crosse, Outagamie and Milwaukee counties.

Police knew him as ‘Goddi.’

He still faces four criminal counts from the February bust but, add six more, after this week’s takedown of Williams at his south side apartment Tuesday night.

Police say Williams posted videos of himself with drugs, guns and money in his apartment.

They used a real estate website to identify the place and used a search warrant to enter the apartment at 1128 4th St. South.

Police found, among other things, a stolen handgun under the bathroom sink along with a stockpile of ammo.

Williams remains in jail on the latest charges.
