On display until July 6

If you thought you saw one or two really old ships traveling up the Mississippi River today, you’re not imagining things.

Replicas of the Nina and the Pinta, sailed by Christopher Columbus, arrived in Winona today.

The ships are docked at Levee Park for a week, so visitors can see what ocean travel was like 500 years ago.  The Nina replica was built by hand, without using modern power tools.

They will be open to public tours beginning Wednesday through July 6.
