Takes place of Havenstrite, who resigned

Tim Smaby is back in public office.

Smaby was named as the replacement to former Onalaska school board member Alana Havenstrite, who resigned earlier this month.

Smaby served just one term before being defeated in April’s election by board president Ann Garrity and newcomer Jake Speed.

Smaby will start next month. It’s been a rollercoaster ride for Smaby.

Garrity and Smaby ran a campaign together, but Garrity wound up with just a few more votes.
