Myles Knoble just wrapped up chemotherapy last week

We’ve learned over the last week about Logan High School senior Myles Knoble’s battle with cancer.

You can read about it here.

In there, we learned about his good friend, Zak Chaouki, taking it upon himself to help raise money for the Knobles’ medical bills.

Tuesday night, Chaouki gave his friend the check from fundraising events he helped organize, and we’ll just say, the Knobles were quite surprised by the amount.

“The entire Knoble family knew that it had been a success, but the amount of profit we raised still shocked the family,” Chaouki said. “There’s no better feeling than making your best friend tear up in joy after he’s gone through so much!

“Tears dripped out of Kristy’s ((Myles’ mother) eyes, too.”

Chaouki helped put together a rave at the La Crosse Center, a chicken-q outside it the leading into the event and a GoFundMe campaign

“In the end, all of the hard work was nothing compared to the happiness of making Myles’ life a little less stressful,” Chaouki said.

Chaouki isn’t done, either. Another benefit is set for Aug. 13 at Copeland Park. It will include both silent and live auctions.

There will be live music from local bands, as well.
