Police watched while suspect lit fire

TREMPEALEAU, Wis. — One man has been arrested after apparently trying to set a church on fire in Trempealeau County.  

Police say John Michael Humm faces felony charges for trying to set fire to St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in the Village of Trempealeau.

Police say the 19-year-old Humm was trying to set fire to the church when they got there.

They arrested Humm as he left the church and the fire was put out.
