Crews work to restore power after overnight storms
Downed power lines, trees from storm
Crews worked through the night to restore power to thousands who lost service when a powerful storm moved through parts of Wisconsin.
High winds knocked over trees and downed power lines. The La Crosse Airport reported a wind gust in excess of 75 mph.
Thousands were still without power on Wednesday morning throughout the region, including several dozen in the La Crosse and Onalaska areas.
With Xcel energy, Chris Oulette says if you find yourself without power, as many did in the area overnight, you can get text and email notifications on how quickly power might be restored.
Oulette also insists it’s important to hear from customers when the lights go out, “It is a good idea to give us a call…it’s really important that we get individual customer reporting.”
No injuries have been reported from the storms overnight.
