Buchholz, differing views on many issues, as he battles Kind

From TPP to minimum wage to wars,
the two don’t see eye to eye

If you talk to Myron Buchholz’s camp, Wisconsin Congressman Ron Kind is vulnerable, as he runs for another term in the U.S. House.

Buchholz believes Kind is on the wrong side of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, minimum wage, wars and others.

Several people voted against the war in Iraq. More voted for it, including Kind.

Easier to do when you don’t have someone fighting overseas, Buchholz’s campaign manager, Jodie Arnold, said.

“Myron’s been in (Kind’s) face many times about the war, and it’s always been evaded,” Arnold said. “As a matter of fact, Ron Kind came to Memorial High School and told his class that he would not vote for the war. No more than two weeks later, he voted for the war.”

Buchholz had a daughter that served in Iraq as an Army Captain.

Arnold said one of the biggest flaws is Kind has stopped thinking about Wisconsin residents.

“There is a disconnect,” she said. “I think people feel alienated. You stay in Washington, (D.C.), a long time and you sort of lose your sense of where you’re from.”

On the flip side, Buchholz doesn’t have any political experience. That, however, is something Arnold says is a positive.

The state of Wisconsin is in a state of total dishevelment; for the first time in my memory our state government has been bought and sold. The LaFollettes are turning over in their graves and this spring rained tears down upon us. We did not pay attention, we opened up our umbrellas and sang, “Let Citizens United run us into the ground!” I am not longer proud of my state. Thank you, Myron for speaking up. I am not able to contribute, I’m one of those who ekes out a living on Social Security, (I taught all my career!) My heart is with you and I will make phone calls, stuff envelopes and hope you, who are willing to stand up and be counted will win! Thank you!
