County releases health plan to improve multiple areas of care

Mental health, substance abuse part of focus

The La Crosse County Health Department has released a comprehensive health improvement plan, focusing on mental health, substance abuse, and community detriments to getting quality health care.

Jem Rombalski with the department said the priorities came from the community.

“This plan really is the culmination of a lot of really solid data and assessment process,” she said. “We also have engaged the community. We really believe this plan is reflective of what the community wants and needs.”

The plan encompasses 2016-2021, but Rombalski said it will be updated and changed based on data they receive.
