Two brothers who claimed they were in the La Crosse area for work got drunk and disorderly on Thursday night.

How disorderly? They were picking fights with people at a downtown West Salem bar. Police took them to the AmericInn, where they promised they wouldn’t cause any more problems.

Police were back at the motel within an hour, after the brothers started throwing chairs, punching the walls and, eventually, pulled the fire alarm.

Nelson and Chad Scrivner, both in their early 40s, are being charged in La Crosse County court with property damage, resisting arrest and sending a false fire alarm.

Both were released from jail Friday and have court hearings next month.
