Purse with $11,773 in cash lying around at store in mall for days
Eventually, employees contacted police
It contained $11,773 dollars in cash – a purse located Friday at Hallmark inside the Valley View Mall.
It had been there for several days. Employees figured it belonged to a coworker, who would be back to the store to pick it up.
When that didn’t happen, employees contacted police and the story got a little weirder.
The purse with all that cash belonged to a 73-year-old woman.
Once she was contacted, she jumped into her car – well, maybe not jumped – and booked it to La Crosse … from Rockford, Ill.
Along with the cash, the purse also contained several giftcards.
