Gas prices are dropping
Bush and Kerry were on the ticket,
last time they were this low in July
Gas is cheap. Again. The last time gasoline was this price was around the end of July when Americans were deciding whether to vote for George W. Bush or John Kerry.
Prices are at their lowest summertime levels in about 12 years, and they keep dropping. But, how low will they go?
“It’s very possible, if not likely, that we will see prices below $2 a gallon again, probably within the next few months,” Nick Jarmusz with AAA Wisconsin said, adding that a third of the country was already below $2.
A few places in Wisconsin already have gas under $2 again – where the national average was in early January – mainly in the Beloit, Wis., area.
About three months have passed since the last time prices were that low, but a sharp drop has occurred in the past month.
Jarmusz says the state is now on the downhill side of a summer gas spike, where prices were around $2.50 a gallon in June.
