The Holmen Police Dept. will be out in full force Tuesday evening.
Every officer will be on hand as the department hosts its Second Annual National Night Out. Here’s the Facebook event page.
It goes from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Halfway Creek Park bandshell and looks to be a great event for the kids with all kinds of activities and sights to see, such as:
- Grab bags for the first 500 children
- Four giant inflatable bounce houses
- Rock Wall by Army National Guard
- Little Convincer – Wisconsin State Patrol Academy
- BearCat from La Crosse County Sheriff’s Department
- MedLink Helicopter by Gundersen Lutheran MedLink AIR
- Holmen Area Fire Dept.’s fire truck
- K9 Demonstration by Holmen P.D.
- 10 Booths with activities from local businesses
- 70-plus kids’ door prizes and 40-plus adult door prizes
(Door Prize drawings start around 6 p.m. you do not need to be present to win but prizes are picked as 1st come, 1st served)
Holmen students can guess the number of jelly beans. Winners will get a ride to school with a Holmen Police Officer and Subway for lunch.
There will also be food available for sale from The MOB Stop and the Holmen American Legion Post 284.
“Our officers that are working will still be there,” Holmen police chief Shane Collins said. “Obviously, if they get a call, they get a call. But the rest of the dept will be there volunteering. Just a good way to meet some of the businesses, your neihbors and obviously the police dept.
After the event, anyone can stay to watch the movie Guardians of the Galaxy.
