City could add tech to IT dept. and Environmental Sustainability Planner
Personnel committee votes on additions tonight
The days of stark austerity in La Crosse city hall may have come to an end.
The city has, for the last several years, adjusted to no property tax levy increase policies by eliminating staff positions, among other things.
For 2017, a couple of city hall departments may see something different. Tonight, the city’s personnel committee considers adding a tech in the city’s IT department, and something called an Environmental Sustainability Planner in the planning department.
The full city council would have to approve adding the positions. Both also depend on how final budget numbers work out for 2017 in the coming months.
