Driver said he was looking for a public defender… after midnight

A traffic stop on August 6th in Sparta led to a conversation with the driver Colton Whitaker of Mauston.

Whitaker had a suspended license and was on probation.

When asked what he was doing in Sparta, Whitaker originally said he was looking for a friend. Whitaker then told the officer he was looking for a public defender because he missed a court appearance.

Drugs were found in the vehicle including several bags of meth, marijuana and cocaine.

Whitaker and passenger 30 year old Alicia Boldon of Mauston were both arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, and simple possession of the other drugs.

Bolden faces additional charges of bringing meth into the jail.
