Two parking gate casualties last weekend, including one culprit still at large
Police still looking for one, caught
other driving wrong way down Fourth St.
The La Crosse police are looking for this guy, who might be the second person to have driven through one of the newly re-installed parking gates in the ramps downtown.
La Crosse Police are currently investigating the hit & run captured on this video. This occurred at the entrance to the 3rd and Main parking ramp on Sunday August 14th at 4:46 am. Apparently the lone driver did not see the 2 “No Exit” signs and the “DO NOT ENTER” sign as they destroyed the parking station gate. This happened at 4:46 a.m. Sunday morning at the ramp on Third and Main streets.
Police said the lone driver apparently didn’t see the “No Exit” signs and the “Do Not Enter” signs as he went right through the gate.
It also appears as though he didn’t see the gate, either.
If you have any information about this vehicle or who is driving call the La Crosse Police Dept. at 608-785-5962.
A day earlier, a witnesses reported a La Crosse man drove through the La Crosse Center ramp gate around bar time that morning.
Police caught that man, however, as he driving the wrong way down Fourth St., downtown and about to hit a police squad car head on, before the officer turned on his emergency lights.
That promted the man to whip his vehicle around and continue on as if nothing was wrong.
It wasn’t until the officer manuvered around traffic and got behind the 28 year old, before pulling over.
The man blew a .255 and was charged with his second OWI, as well as damaging property.
