Women’s group supporting Trump says Republicans need to unite
Party needs to be reminded, alternative to Trump is Clinton
For some vocal supporters of Donald Trump within the Republican Party, there’s not a lot of love for those in the party who don’t support him.
La Crosse’s Sue Lynch, part of the newly formed Wisconsin Women for Donald Trump coalition, is among those who say it’s especially shameful how some in her party are publicly criticizing Trump.
“I’ve been involved in politics since 1974 and I have never seen a candidate treated this way in any level of an election and I’m tired of it,” Lynch said. “Donald trump won this election fair and square. And if their egos are too big to be able to accept the outcome, I’m not sure they were really a part of us all along.”
Lynch says she feels obliged to remind party members that the alternative to not supporting Donald Trump is Hillary Clinton.
“My message to those Republicans who are wavering whether or not to support Mr. Trump and those that have come out against him, ‘Republicans shame on you,'” Lynch said.
Lynch is the past president of the National Federation of Republican Women. She says it’s merely distraction to talk about how her support is influenced by what some say are sexist comments about women Trump has made.
