Tip helps La Crosse police capture shooter, pistol found
27-year-old shot another man
while driving on Copeland on Wed.

La Crosse Police have arrested a suspect in a Wednesday shooting.
Jeremy Rigelsky is in La Crosse County jail on charges that he shot into a car while driving on Copeland Ave. in La Crosse just after midnight Wednesday morning.
Police say both cars were moving. One victim suffered a leg wound but was treated and released from the hospital.
At 7 a.m. Thursday, police received a tip that the 27-year-old Rigelsky was leaving a residence in a white Grand Prix. Police followed the vehicle to an alley on Green Bay St. There police arrested Rigelsky without incident, and found a loaded pistol under the passenger seat in which he was sitting.
Rigelsky has an extensive criminal record dating back to a 2005 felony charge for stabbing a fellow student while at La Crosse Logan High School.
He now faces charges of first-degree attempted murder, stealing a car and possessing a firearm as a felon.
Also arrested during the stop was 29-year-old Blong Vue, who was charged with possession of methamphetamine and had an outstanding warrant.
Rigelsky should appear in La Crosse county court today.

La Crosse police are searching for a shooting suspect from this morning.
Cops say 27-year-old Jeremy Rigelsky is the one who fired a handgun at a guy into a car just after midnight this morning, hitting a victim in the thigh.
The victim was the only one hit by the gunfire, before being treated and released from a local hospital.
Apparently, the shooting occurred between two cars while driving on Copeland Ave.
Police say Rigelsky and the victim have an ongoing conflict. Rigelsky was last seen driving a gold color Chevy Impala.
