Part of a class for students training to be trainers

For those looking to get into a workout routine, the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is offering an unbeatable deal – a free personal trainer.

UW-L students taking part in Dr. Andrew Jagim’s Methods of Exercise Leadership class to become personal trainers need subjects – test subjects, so to speak.

It’s a seven-week class. And yes, it’s free.

“Students get great real-life experience working with an actual person instead of developing an assignment for a theoretical case study,” Jagin said. “At the same time, members from community will get help with achieving whatever their fitness goal may be.”

Those taking part need to be available from 11 a.m. – 12:25 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Subjects will first take a questionnaire, then go through a health screen and fitness assessment, before being put to work by UW-L student personal trainers

I also act as the voice of local sports, doing play by play of high school and college football and basketball. When not working I enjoy golfing.
