Videos shot before couple began divorce proceedings

A La Crosse County man faces six charges of secretly videotaping his wife while she was nude.

The 48-year-old Town of Campbell resident is accused of making the tapes in their bedroom over a three-year period dating back to 2012, before he and his wife began divorce proceedings.

She did not consent to the recordings.

“Capturing an image of nudity without consent, it’s alleged to be an act of domestic abuse,” La Crosse County Judge Scott Horne said in court Monday.

Horne allowed the suspect to be released until a pre-trial hearing later this month.

Each criminal count could lead to a prison sentence of more than three years. Six videos were discovered in a search of the couple’s home last May.
