Jennifer Shilling increased her lead over Dan Kapanke with the final votes tallied in the 32nd State Senate race but not enough to avoid a likely recount.

The unofficial final count shows the incumbent Senate minority leader 58 votes ahead of the man she unseated in a recall election five years ago.

Third-party candidate Chip DeNure received just over 2,000 votes out of the around 90,000 votes cast.

The state elections commission says Kapanke could put in a request next week for a recount.
