Closed bar still has bike racks illegally on downtown La Crosse street

City threatening Golden Tap with fines if not removed

A La Crosse business owner could face hundreds of dollars in fines for his bike racks on the street.

You’ll see the unusually-shaped and colorful bike racks sitting on 6th St. outside the Golden Tap. 

They were supposed to be removed by restaurant owner Bijan Jadali by Nov. 1.

The Golden Tap, however, recently closed after being open for only a few months with notices posted on the windows promising big changes.

The car silhouette-shaped bike racks were added at the beginning of the summer by Jadali under the condition they be moved by November.

We’re told Jadali faces up to $500 in fines if the racks aren’t removed by November 18. The city could also remove the racks and bill Jadali for the work.
