Boys and Girls Club goes through $7-million expansion
30 new members already signed up
A week into a bigger, better Boys and Girls Club in La Crosse and 30 more members are already signed up.
The club on Clinton St. had a ribbon cutting Thursday, just underwent a $7-million expansion that included a new entrance, additional recreation space, new air conditioner and roof.
Those changes also include a dance and recording studio to the 30-year-old building.
“We hope to run more programs around fine arts and more athletics for our kids,” site coordinator Teigen Haye said.
La Crosse’s original Boys Club opened in 1966 inside the old Auto-Lite factory on the north side.
