Man shot in head in Winona leaves him in critical condition

Suspected shooter is in jail

WINONA, Minn. — A weekend shooting in Winona leaves one man critically injured and puts another man in jail.

The 20-year-old victim was shot in the head late Friday night at a home on E. Third St., according to Winona police. 

Lucas Schultz, a 20 year old, is jailed on tentative charges of assault and reckless use of a firearm. Schultz is said to be an acquaintance of the man who was shot.

That victim was taken to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse for treatment.
