La Crosse employer plans on doubling its workforce

Logistics Health in La Crosse has about 12 hundred employees now.

Today, plans were announced to double that.

Founder and CEO of LHI, Don Weber says he has to hire 12 hundred new employees to fulfill a contract with the Veterans Administration.

Weber says the hiring has to be done essentially within the next year.

He also says many of the jobs will fill existing office areas in the Riverside Center buildings but also in the Weber’s new Belle Square development downtown.  

Among other tasks, the new employees will help provide medical disability exams for veterans in the region.  

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
