Kapanke, who lost Senate by 58 votes, says he’ll announce potential recount Friday

Nearly 90,000 votes cast 

Out of nearly 90,000 votes cast, just 56 decided the Wisconsin Senate race for the 32nd district between Jennifer Shilling and Dan Kapanke.

Kapanke told WIZM he’ll make a decision on a potential recount by Friday, the deadline for him to petition to do so.

The final tally gave Shilling 43,570 votes to Kapanke’s 43,514, while independent Chip DeNure had 2,087 votes.

Kapanke won’t have to pay a recount cost because the difference is less than .25 percent.
