New rules as Wisconsin’s gun deer hunt starts Saturday
Hunters can now print own tags, among other things
Wisconsin’s nine-day gun deer hunt starts Saturday.
La Crosse County warden Ed McCann talks about some of the new regulations.
“There isn’t a whole lot of new stuff although it can be confusing because now you print off your own deer tags,” McCann said. “That appears to be something that causes confusion with the hunters.
“I am not worried as long as people take 5 minutes and read the regulations or ask questions.”
Not only can you print out your tags but the days of prominently displayed back tags have been consigned to the dust bin of deer camp days past.
A phone app also helps hunters keep up with the changed regulations. Lastly, blaze pink gear is legal in the woods for the first time.
