Aquinas president disagrees with Rep. legislation in WI to conceal-carry in private schools
Knutson trusts common sense will prevail
The Aquinas Schools president has made his position clear on the right to have weapons on school property.
A state senator from Kewaskum, Wis., is planning to push legislation that would allow people with concealed-carry permits to have guns on school grounds.
Republican Jesse Kremer said the bill would only impact private schools.
“As a private school administrator I would have no support of that,” Aquinas president Ted Knutson said.
It’s an issue, however, he is also not too worried about.
“I have a lot of trust in our state government and I have to believe that the process will work and common sense will prevail,” Knutson said. “I support the right to carry conceal in the state but I don’t believe weapons belong on school property – private or public.”
Kremer says barring legal gun owners from school grounds is unsafe and unfair.
