Black Friday, Cyber Monday but don’t forget Small Business Saturday

Santa will be at his workshop downtown La Crosse on Saturday

Almost every day of the week surrounding Thanksgiving seems to have a nickname, related to holiday shopping.

You have Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Small Business Saturday.

This coming Saturday is being promoted by Downtown Mainstreet, Inc., in La Crosse as a time to visit the local merchants in the central city.

DMI director Robin Moses says you might notice a few changes, if you haven’t been to that part of La Crosse lately.

“I think people will be surprised to see some of the things we have downtown if they haven’t been there for awhile,” Moses said.

The new Duluth Trading Company in the Doerflinger building has set up Santa’s Workshop for the Christmas season. Santa and Mrs. Claus will, of course, be there from noon-5 p.m. Saturday.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
