A 62-year-old caught making homemade fireworks

An explosion on Friday morning brought cops out to an address in Tomah, where a 62-year-old man was found making fireworks – without a license.

Monroe County sheriff’s officers were called to Salvo’s home on Friday, responding to reports of a blast and a fire. After finding ingredients for fireworks, they called in a Dane County bomb squad to remove some of those items.

Emile Salvo is now facing charges of unlicensed fireworks manufacturing, endangering safety and storing fireworks near a home. He’s also listed as a local physician.
