Board will bring them in next week

With $47 million on the line, the La Crosse Center board isn’t rushing who heads the facility renovations.

Members of the board will have one more round of interviews next week with the two remaining finalists – Vantage and ISG.

Some of the things Center director Art Fahey were concerned about:

  • How the construction manager plays in.
  • Who they thought they might be wanting to work with.
  • Explaining a little more in depth the presentations of the design that they were bring in to us.
  • If we alter (something), what does that mean to the budget?

“So, all those kind of things were coming into the picture,” Fahey said after the first round of interviews. “When we got done, we had a few more questions. We narrowed it down to the two and said, ‘Let’s bring them both back in and do that second interview and make sure we do our due diligence on this.'”

The scope of the project may be reduced, depending on how much the state is willing to spend.
