Recount in Wisconsin a scam, says commission president
Green Party’s Jill Stein requested recount
Those expecting big changes from a presidential recount in Wisconsin certainly will be disappointed.
After the statewide recount ended Monday, Donald Trump picked up another 131 votes, ending speculation of widespread voting machine hacks.
Wisconsin Elections Commissioner Don Millis thought the whole process was nearly worthless.
“It really didn’t have to happen,” Millis said. “My personal view is that this is really part of a scam pact that allowed Jill Stein and the Green Party to raise more money.”
But, in one sense, the recount in Wisconsin did exactly what it was supposed to do and insure the election wasn’t hacked..
With only a few votes changed, the reasoning is quite simple.
“The vast majority of changes were due to writing in the wrong number or human error,” Millis said. “There are virtually no changes that had to do with tabulators. There was one situation that had to do with an outdated machine.”
Other requested recounts in Pennsylvania and Michigan will not proceed.
