Winona State professor arrested for third OWI
Tries to show steak he bought to officer.
A Winona State University professor faces his third OWI after being arrested yesterday.
Police received a call from an employee at Festival Foods who reported an intoxicated man leaving the parking lot in his car. She said she had offered to call the man a cab but he refused.
Police got behind the driver, Roger Riley, on Rose Street and followed him for a few blocks, watching him swerve and almost hit the curb.
Riley tried to show the officer a steak he had bought but had trouble even picking it up.
Police say he failed several sobriety tests including reciting the alphabet. He got to I on the first try and P on the 2nd before getting confused and having to stop. He blew a .24 on a breathalyzer.
