Several scholarships are available through the competition

50 teams from 6 states are competing in a Robotics competition this weekend at the La Crosse Center.

Action kicked off this morning following an opening ceremony.

Aditya Ailiani, a member of the Onalaska Robotics team says he enjoys the competition.

“There are a lot of unexpected problems that arise, and the process of problem solving and scrambling to fix the problems with the materials that we have, it’s a fun challenge.”

The teams have 6 weeks once they find out the challenge they need to complete to design and create their robot. Aliani says it can be a hectic six weeks for the team.

“There’s so much to do in such a small period of time. We have to design our robot, we have to build our robot, we have to do all the testing, and there are always unexpected problems that arise.”

Several awards are given out for creativity of the robot, effectiveness, and durability.

The winners of this Regional competition will move on to Nationals in either St. Louis or Houston.

I also act as the voice of local sports, doing play by play of high school and college football and basketball. When not working I enjoy golfing.
