Convicted murderer Bryce Anderson will be in his 60s before he has a chance to get out of prison.

The Holmen, Wis., man received a life term in prison for the brutal killing of his girlfriend, Kristen Johnson, just over two years ago.

Johnson was strangled, beaten with a hammer and her throat was cut.

Anderson claimed he was angry at Johnson for allegedly having an affair, but the prosecution says the two were breaking up anyway, and argued that the murder was too deliberate to be a sudden burst of anger.

“Whatever happened in your mind that night, before you killed Kristen,” Judge Elliott Levine said in court, “and did what you did was some god-awful fantasy of some belief that you had the right to do that at that moment.”

The judge says the 29-year-old Anderson can apply for release from prison in March of 2050 – exactly 35 years after the murder.
