Robbery and standoff suspect will wait until next week for court appearance

Alan Fry was arrested after long standoff near Westby

The Holmen man arrested this week after a chase and standoff in Vernon County is expected to appear before a La Crosse judge early next week. 

The La Crosse County D.A. is still preparing charges against 34-year-old Alan Fry. 

On Tuesday night, Fry allegedly used a shotgun to rob a south La Crosse bar, and then drove into Vernon County, where police chased him at high speeds. 

After officers disabled his car, Fry resisted arrest for about five hours while sitting in the car along Highway 14. 

Vernon County also is considering charges against Fry.
