Eagles only team ranked in Top 25 in regional

The NCAA Division III softball tournament gets underway today and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse won’t have to go far. Not far at all.

The Eagles host the regional, after receiving an at-large bid earlier this week.

At 3:30 p.m. today, UW-L (28-14), ranked 23rd in the nation, plays unranked St. Norbert (21-14). Win or lose, the Eagles will play again Saturday against either UW-Oshkosh (30-11) or Benedictine (33-11). UW-O was ranked just outside the Top 25, while Benedictine is unranked.

The Eagles are 3-0 against UW-O this season. They have not played any of the other teams.

The softball fields are located on the north campus just off East Avenue.
