WAMO state tourney returns to La Crosse for 1st time in 5 years.

About 5,000 dart players are competing in La Crosse this week, in what’s being called the biggest electronic dart tournament in the world.

The WAMO state dart championship started Wednesday at the La Crosse Center.

The La Crosse Center will host the state contest again two years from now and the state pool tournament is expected in town next year and in 2020.

Local tourism promoters say the new hotels recently built downtown helped persuade WAMO to bring the event back to La Crosse.
