Trump saga has La Crosse Congressman Ron Kind wanting some answers
From revealing classified info to what was revealed in Comey’s memo.
La Crosse Democratic Congressman Ron Kind has some pretty important work today on a key committee.
But, he says, anything accomplished there will still take a back seat to the latest crisis involving the White House.
“Everyday, it’s just a changing narrative and a new Tweet of something else that’s happening,” Kind said. “It’s a terrible distraction.”
Kind, while very concerned about the memo reportedly written by former FBI director James Comey, and what that say about President Donald Trump influencing an investigation, he also still wants answers about why the president was sharing potentially sensitive intel with Russian diplomats.
“First of all, it was incredibly reckless and incredibly dangerous,” Kind said. “What exactly was transmitted to Russia? What potential damage was done? And what steps are going to be taken now to insure the President of the United States does not share classified information to those who are not our friends and ally?”
“That’s a pretty significant item, too, that we need to get to the bottom of.”
As far as the Comey memo issue and what it might say about the president attempting to obstruct an investigation; Kind says he’d like a full reckoning of exactly what President Trump was up to there, as well.
