Eagles hold NCAA record for most titles in DIII history.

Josh Buchholtz is going to have a busy weekend. It’s something the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men’s track and field coach is pretty used to, though.

The Eagles dynasty will be looking to for the three-peat for NCAA outdoor titles beginning Thursday. UW-L is sending 18 athletes to the championships in Geneva, Ohio.

UW-L has 14 NCAA titles, a Division III record. Add that to the NCAA DIII record 18 NCAA indoor titles, including this season, and that’s what you call a dynasty.

If UW-L wins the outdoor title, it will have swept indoor-outdoor championships 12 times – the last, in 2013.

The list of Eagles headed to the championships is compiled of seniors Matt Adams, Ross Denman, Ian Ewers, Ben Jordan, Joe Koenecke, Nathan Newberry, Luke Rohloff, Zach Rothering, Sam Smith and Zak Wallenfang; juniors Michael Austin Bates, Nathan Berg, Brendan Deiss, Wes Evansen, Ernest Winters and Austin Zajkowski; sophomores Dominic Bocchini, Joshua Desorcy, Matthew Foster, Samuel Hinz and Noah Meeteer and freshman Jonah Bauer and Andrew Jarrett.
