Accused drug dealing father and son arrested after high speed chase
Spike strips used to stop car.
Police suggest the family business might not prove to be terribly lucrative for one alleged father and son drug dealing duo.
Larry Baldwin, 47, and Larry Baldwin, 21, were arrested last night in La Crosse.
La Crosse police said the two were in the car that led police on a high-speed chase into the north side at about 8 p.m. Monday.
Police had the two at a traffic stop after a tip that they had a large amount of drugs in the car. K9 officer Luc hit on the car BUT the pair took off from the stop, with six police cars on their tail.
The chase went north from Lang Dr. and into the Schuh Homes before police stopped the Baldwin’s SUV with spike stripes at Winneshiek and Wood streets.
Police collected 64 grams of crack cocaine from the car, as well as $1,400 in cash.
Both father and son are charged with felony drug dealing. Dad faces additional charges for felony bail jumping, leading police on the chase, as well as drunk driving.
Police also said the elder of the Baldwins had been arrested in La Crosse on a drug dealing charge in the last 14 months.
