City to focus on bicycles, beginning with workshop today
Making Avon St. corridor “greener, more walkable, bicycle friendly.”
La Crosse will be focusing on bicycles over the next couple of weeks.
Today, La Crosse city planners host a public workshop at the Black River Beach Neighborhood Center to provide background info about neighborhood greenways and the city’s bike plan.
The focus is on the Avon St. corridor and plans to make the strip “greener, more walkable and more bicycle friendly.”
That has been identified as a route for potential improvement in the city’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan.
Early next month, La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat will hold his Ride with the Mayor, hour-long tour to check out biking infrastructure in the city along with the Wisconsin Bike Fed organization.
