Tickets are from just the last three years.

It’s still unclear just how many vehicle registrations have been suspended in La Crosse due to unpaid parking tickets.

Police told WIZM that it has identified, at a minimum, $355,000 in unpaid parking tickets for 2014 through April of this year, though the total could be much higher.

In the past few weeks, police have have requested the DMV suspend the vehicle registrations associated with each of those 2,253 tickets.

But, there could be multiple tickets per vehicle and police said that could mean two thousand registrations or just a few hundred.

Police say there are unpaid tickets that date back to 1997 that are not part of the current suspensions.

Only those vehicles registered in Wisconsin can be suspended by the DMV.
